According to reports, Twitter is developing a Bitcoin tipping feature

According to reports, Twitter is laying the groundwork for enabling Bitcoin (Bitcoin) Tips for content creators.

According to MacRumors, the latest Twitter iOS beta include You can see the line of code where Bitcoin becomes part of the “Tip Jar”.In fact, as Cointelegraph previously reported, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey had previously hinted Bitcoin tipping is in progress.

Twitter launched Tip Jar in May as a way for users to reward content creators on popular social media platforms.

If the Bitcoin tip report is true, then BTC will be added as an acceptable payment option on the tip jar along with Cash App, PayPal and Venmo.

As part of the launch, Twitter may provide short tutorials on Bitcoin and the Lightning Network. According to part of the text quoted by MacRumors, the Bitcoin tipping function will use the lightning network payment gateway Strike to “generate a Bitcoin lightning invoice.”

This tutorial may also include information about concepts, such as custodial and non-custodial wallets used to store Bitcoin.

The Bitcoin tipping feature on Twitter is just the latest in a series of BTC-focused adoption developments by the social media giant and Dorsey himself. In early August, the heads of Twitter and Square announced Plans to build a decentralized exchange for Bitcoin.

Dorsey previously described Bitcoin as the key to Twitter’s future, and said the company intends to integrate BTC into services such as commerce and subscriptions.

The Bitcoin tip on Twitter via the Lightning Network will also confirm plans to integrate LN into the social media platform that was first launched in June. This move may also make cryptocurrency tipping mainstream to realize one of several use cases for cryptocurrencies supported by proponents.

In July, Dorsey also revealed that Square is Development of “assisted custody” hardware wallets for Bitcoin.
