AMC Cinemas stated that customers will be able to pay with Shiba Inu soon


Shiba Inu has begun to enter the next stage of its development, namely the payment field. The meme coin follows the same route as its predecessor and becomes a payment token that facilitates small transactions. It has now entered the cryptocurrency list of AMC Theatre, and these cryptocurrencies will be accepted for purchase in the next few months.

This will provide utility for future meme coins. Shiba Inu was created without practical prospects. Only relying on the power of Internet hype will soon see real-world applications.

AMC announces Shiba Inu payment

Adam Aron, CEO of AMC Publish A poll conducted on Twitter on October 29th conducted a poll on the community’s opinion of Shiba Inu. The poll is similar to the poll conducted on SHIB rival Dogecoin before the company implemented Dogecoin to pay for tickets and discounts. The poll received more than 150,000 votes, and 81.4% of voters voted for the acceptance of SHIB.

Fast forward to November, and AMC held a quarterly earnings conference call on Monday. With revenue of more than 10,000 listeners, CEO Adam Aron announced that the theater chain will accept Shiba Inu as a payment method in the future. Theater audiences will be able to buy tickets and discounts like other cryptocurrencies.

However, the company did not disclose the time frame for when it will accept SHIB payments on its platform, but it is expected that the meme coin will come into effect with the cryptocurrency planned to be implemented in 2022.

AMC expands its lineup

Adding Shiba Inu as the expected payment method brings the total number of cryptocurrencies accepted by the theater chain to six. CEO Adam Allen has previously revealed that the entertainment giant is working hard to implement encrypted payments for its services. Initially, Bitcoin was the only cryptocurrency announced. But over time, other cryptocurrencies were added to the lineup.

Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin have been further added to the list to help users provide more choices when paying with cryptocurrencies. Then in October, Aron announced that the chain of theaters would start accepting Dogecoin, bringing the total to five.

The Dogecoin payment was implemented after the CEO conducted a poll, which saw an overwhelming majority vote for adding Doge to the lineup. On October 5th, Dogecoin payment was officially launched Announce, Allowing users to use cryptocurrency to purchase gift cards up to $200 per day.
