Nervos, a set of protocols and Public blockchain ecosystem, Announced today that its cross-chain asset system Force Bridge is now live on the mainnet. Force Bridge is now connected to Ethereum and will soon be connected to Cardano and other EVM and non-EVM chains such as Bitcoin, TRON, EOS and Polkadot.
As a trustless cross-chain bridge, Force Bridge allows seamless transactions between the Nervos ecosystem and other public chains, making it easier for developers to extend their dApps to Nervos. Currently, the bridge supports ETH and whitelisted ERC-20 tokens, including Dai (DAI), Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC), and more tokens will appear in the future.
Note that Nervos’ native token $CKB does not need to transfer assets to Nervos through Force Bridge.
How does Liqiao work
Although most cross-chain bridges require multiple steps to move assets, Force Bridge only requires a simple contract deployment to start transferring assets to users or decentralized applications (dApps).
When users use the Force Bridge user interface (UI) to send assets from Ethereum, the assets will be locked into a multi-signature wallet on Ethereum. Then mint the corresponding token on Nervos and send it to the wallet address of the corresponding user.
In order to ensure the safety and security of assets when moving across chains, the Nervos community established the Force Bridge committee to ensure that smart contract wallets are safe on Ethereum.
“Force Bridge plays an integral role in our suite of multi-chain solutions, which are designed to create universal applications that go beyond a single blockchain. With our recent launch of some other multi-chain solutions Polyjuice and Godwoken was tested in our recent Hackathon and now Force Bridge, and we are making important progress on our roadmap and moving towards a truly interconnected blockchain ecosystem.”
——Kevin Wang, co-founder of Nervos
Earlier this year, Nervos announced that it would connect to Cardano, which is the latest project in the existing research collaboration between the two parties. Nervos and IOHK.
Once completed, it will become Cardano’s first cross-chain bridge, allowing users to alternate between Nervos and Cardano’s local currencies ($CKB and $ADA, respectively) and create their own tokens between the two (User-defined token) Blockchain.
As Nervos moves towards the vision of an interoperable blockchain ecosystem. Users from other blockchains will soon be able to use their wallets to trade with Yokaiswap in the same liquidity pool on CKB. Yokaiswap is the first interoperable AMM, DEX, income agriculture and staking platform. In addition, the project is developing an update to transfer $CKB (wCKB) with $CKB as a package to Ethereum.
Kevin added: “The progress of blockchain is an iterative process. As we continue to make progress on Force Bridge and our multi-chain solution, we look forward to receiving feedback from the community.”
Nervos launches the Force Bridge
this Nervos Common Knowledge Base (CKB) It is the first layer of the Nervos network, proof-of-work, public, permissionless blockchain protocol. It allows the storage of any encrypted assets with the security, immutability and permission-free nature of Bitcoin, while supporting smart contracts and layer 2 expansion.
Force Bridge is a cross-chain system composed of different protocols, CKB contracts, and off-chain modules. It is used to support decentralized and redeemable tokens on CKB, and is linked to any asset on any blockchain.
