Announcement of Fundraising Community Grantees | Ethereum Foundation Blog

We are happy to announce the recently selected recipients Betting community grants.

This will grant invited suggestions to make the Ethereum mortgage experience easier, safer, and safer. We are very happy to see all the excellent work proposed by these teams, and we look forward to continuing to find new ways to support the ecosystem. At the same time, if you are working in this field and can use support, please consider submitting a project consultation in the following ways: Ecosystem Support Plan.

More than $1 million has been allocated to 4 different categories in 25 grants:

category Amount (USD)
Community/education 391,800.00
New tools 200,000.00
Data analysis/visualization 180,000.00
the study 268,655.00

Several months have passed since the Ethereum proof of stake journey, which bodes well for the health of our ecosystem, because we see so many worthy teams in so many categories.

The biggest category in this round is community / education. In the long run, relaxing the stakeout path is essential to the health of the stakeout ecosystem. Reducing community input and educational content is a useful way to solve this problem. We look forward to greater development here, especially outside of English-speaking countries.

Technology Company Polish Japanese Eth2 education content (including stakeout guide)

Just as community and education are essential to get stakeholders to the starting point, powerful open source tools are essential to ensure that stakeholders can safely run their nodes. In this round, the tools we saw are mainly security and orchestration oriented, and we hope to continue to innovate here.

Ben Gobert Effective 8r A command line tool used to “verify” the local settings of the verifier. Check common system and application default settings in terms of performance and security of stakeout settings.
Daniel quarrel Mnemonic split A web tool and open source code that uses threshold encryption technology to create the “K of N” mnemonic. This will make it easier to store the verifier’s mnemonic securely and reliably.
Isaac Agudo HSM BLS signer Standards for HSM BLS signers based on blst, including open source code and documentation. This work will help stakeholders manage their keys more securely.
Jakub Tomanik MacSteak A macOS application that runs Ethereum software on all Apple hardware by packaging a platform, so that operators of all skill levels can simplify the betting experience.
Mara Schmiedt, Alon Muroch, Collin Myers Eth2 secret sharing validator Implementation of the audited secret sharing validator configuration, which is the key to improving the flexibility and diversification of validators on the eth2 network

Data analysis/visualization

As more and more ETH is associated with the beacon chain, it becomes more and more important to gain insight into the function and operation of the network.last year Medalla data challenge Fully proved the interest and ability of the Ethereum ecosystem to collect and analyze network data. Such projects further achieve these goals on the mainnet.

BitFly Beacon The continuous development of beaconcha.in FOSS block explorer, including an open source mobile client and support for merge + sharding testnet.
Jim Macdonald Chain Integrate eth1 deposit tracking into chained, a tool for collecting and indexing data from running stub nodes.
Omni Analytics Group Ethereum 2.0 verification program health layer tracking A continuation of the work originally submitted to the Medalla Data Challenge: a formal method for analyzing validators based on performance and accompanying web dashboards.
Pin tail Explore validator rewards and penalties A series of blog posts explain the rewards/penalties for validators using mainnet data.

the study

Finally, this round of research includes some research projects. There are many open research questions related to the rights and future of the network; we actively invite more research work in this field.

We are excited to follow these teams in 2021 and beyond and see their broader impact on the budding Ethereum ecosystem.

The breadth and quality of this round of grants is an incredible signal to the emerging mortgage community and the entire Ethereum ecosystem. This is the beginning of a good year! 🚀
