Core Developer Apprenticeship Program: The second batch

Will the development of the core protocol that powers the Ethereum blockchain excite you? Are you interested in participating in the most basic and technical aspects of the Ethereum protocol?

I am happy to announce We are now accepting applications for the second batch of Core Developer Apprenticeship Program (CDAP)!

What is CDAP

My name is Piper Merriam and I am a core developer. This means that the development and maintenance of the Ethereum protocol is part of my work. Recently, protocol development has been accelerating. “Mergers” are increasing day by day, and the road to “stateless Ethereum” continues to evolve. We have plans to clean up the long-standing “warts” in the EVM. There is no shortage of things to do, but unfortunately, there is a lack of people with the relevant knowledge and expertise to get the job done. That is where you come in.

This EF protocol support plan is my way to help people get into core protocol development. Here are some details:

  • By accepting applications September 13
  • Plan from late September 2021 to February 2022
  • Participants will have direct access to the core developer community
  • Participants will have the opportunity to participate in real projects that have a real impact on the Ethereum protocol

The goal of the program is to provide you with first-hand experience of how core protocol development works, and to provide support when you understand the protocol on which Ethereum is based.

The first batch

We started The first group, “zero group” The Core Developer Apprenticeship Program (CDAP) two months ago. Since then, about 15 developers have been exploring, learning, researching and contributing. Many of these developers have almost no prior knowledge of the inner workings of Ethereum. Two months later, these same developers are doing the following:

  • Research records and specify alternative methods for the Ethereum protocol.
  • Study how we can modify or delete the SELFDESTRUCT opcode
  • Help build ZKSync
  • Build a new peer-to-peer network for the portal network.
  • Write your own EVM implementation

With the proof of concept, we are now looking to start a second queue.

Do something worthwhile

Core protocol development is undoubtedly the most influential thing I have done in my career. I can use my expertise and knowledge to care for and improve billion-dollar agreements; I believe that the agreement will play a key role in creating a fairer and fairer future for mankind. I can hardly say the same about the various “competitive” jobs that have appeared before. Want to build a future with us that excites you?
