As a member of the European Economic Area, Polygon It is part of the EEA community organization dedicated to advancing Ethereum and promoting industry adoption. In the Q&A below, EEA interviewed Nitin Goyal about the way Polygon is working with the ecosystem to help Ethereum reach its full potential.
Please briefly introduce your company and yourself.
I lead Polygon’s corporate participation and have been active in the blockchain industry since 2015. Polygon is the first well-structured and easy-to-use Ethereum expansion and infrastructure development platform. The Polygon POS chain aims to achieve flexibility and independence. The recently released Polygon SDK is a modular and flexible framework that supports the construction and connection of secure chains, such as Plasma, Optimistic Rollups, zkRollups, Validium, etc., as well as independent chains with their own specific consensus mechanism. Polygon’s scaling solution has been widely adopted by more than 350 Dapps, approximately 94 million transactions, and approximately 1 million unique users.
What brought you to the EEA in the first place, and why did you decide to become a member of it?
As an indispensable part of the Ethereum community, Polygon focuses on the development of related ecosystems. Our collaboration with EEA has helped us drive this adoption, whether it is related to the mainnet or L2-based scaling solutions. We plan to actively participate EEA interest groups Focus on L2 extension solutions.
How will the EEA strengthen the current work of your organization?
EEA brings us the participation of communities and working groups and interest groups. Since our ultimate goal is to allow organizations to adopt and use Ethereum-based technologies in their daily business operations, cooperating with EEA helps us standardize the Ethereum ecosystem so that we can easily build, deploy and scale solutions on the same platform .
What is your current work on Ethereum? How will end users benefit from your work?
Polygon is working hard to enhance our existing blockchain extension solution (POS, based on Plasma) that we have deployed. We are very happy to see various companies adopt Polygon in various use cases. The recently announced Polygon SDK is a modular and extensible framework for building a blockchain network compatible with Ethereum. The SDK will allow companies to have multiple options to deploy blockchain solutions to meet the needs of their end customers. We are still studying other exciting technologies, which will be announced in due course. We believe that companies can benefit a lot from Ethereum technology, and we are very happy to work with other EEA members within the EEA.
